At Lynton, we understand the impact our business operations have on the environment and the responsibility we have to conduct business in as sustainable manner as possible. Through our HIVE initiative, we focus on reducing our carbon footprint, minimising waste and reducing our use of natural resources.
We have been diligently tracking our carbon footprint in line with the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol since 2021. By measuring our emissions across various areas of our operations (scope 1, scope 2 and selected scope 3), we gain valuable insights that help us identify key areas for improvement and take necessary actions to reduce our environmental impact. Although as a medium-sized business we are not required by Government legislation to do so, we report on our carbon footprint annually.
Lynton achieved carbon neutrality for the first time in 2022 and is committed to ongoing carbon neutrality in accordance with the PAS 2060:2014 ‘Specification for the Demonstration of Carbon Neutrality’. As part of our commitment we purchase sufficient high quality, third-party verified carbon credits from carbon reduction projects focused on energy efficiency and forest protection to balance our greenhouse gas emissions each year. We carefully select projects which also meet the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and provide benefits to the local communities involved in the projects. We see carbon neutrality as an important first step on our road to net-zero.
