At Lynton, we understand the impact our business operations have on the environment and the responsibility we have to conduct business in as sustainable manner as possible. Through our HIVE initiative, we focus on reducing our carbon footprint, minimising waste and reducing our use of natural resources.

We have been diligently tracking our carbon footprint in line with the internationally recognised Greenhouse Gas Protocol since 2021. By measuring our emissions across various areas of our operations (scope 1, scope 2 and selected scope 3), we gain valuable insights that help us identify key areas for improvement and take necessary actions to reduce our environmental impact. Although as a medium-sized business we are not required by Government legislation to do so, we report on our carbon footprint annually.

Lynton Lasers is a proud member of the SME Climate Hub, a global initiative that empowers small and medium sized companies to take climate action and build more resilient businesses. By joining the SME Climate Hub, we commit to lowering our impact on the environment through authentic action, halving our emissions intensity by 2030 and achieving Net-Zero by 2045. In making the SME Climate Commitment, we have joined the United Nations Climate Change High Level Champion’s Race to Zero campaign.

As part of our environmental strategy we also invest in sufficient high quality, third-party verified carbon reduction projects, with a focus on energy efficiency and forest protection, to balance our annual emissions. We carefully select projects which meet several of the United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goals and provide benefits to local communities involved in the projects. In addition to our internal greenhouse gas emissions efforts we have now funded the removal of just under 1,500 tonnes CO2e since 2021.
